OPS — Secrets to Motivating Students

Speaker, educator and consultant Dr. Tommy Watson is known for his innovative, research-based strategies proven to increase and maintain student motivation. His personal stories about how educators radically changed his life when he was homeless during high school have truly moved and inspired participants. Sessions feature personal reflection, role-playing, relationship-building, and interactive tools and activities you can apply the very next day. Relationships are enhanced as you cultivate a knack for seeing motivating “hooks” in students’ stories and use them to initiate meaningful connections. You’ll be inspired as you watch students begin to believe in themselves and visualize their potential for success.

Everyone needs optimism and purpose in their lives. This course envelopes you in it. These are future-brightening, confidence-boosting experiences. You’ll awaken eager to tackle each day, armed with new insights that will motivate success and transform students’ lives. And yours.

“I really like how applicable it is. Every session, we completed activities that we could directly take back to our buildings. Instead of just talking about the concept, we were able to practice application… the hook lesson plan, vision boards, affirmation boards. Everything can be directly used in the classroom. …It was more about changing perspective rather than changing everything you are doing.”
